7th Grade Vocabulary Program | Year-Long ELA Word Study & Spiraling Review
Looking for a full-year vocabulary program that actually sticks? This 7th Grade ELA Vocabulary Program is designed to help students master academic vocabulary through consistent exposure, review, and meaningful practice. With 18 complete units, this resource includes Google Slides for classroom instruction and printable word lists for student engagement.
Each unit in this vocabulary curriculum is structured to last two weeks, making it easy to fit into your ELA block or bell work routine. Students are introduced to 10 new vocabulary words on Monday and work with them throughout the two weeks using the included slides and organizers. On the second Friday, they take a vocabulary test covering all the words for that unit—including 5 review words from earlier units.
Starting in Unit 10, no new vocabulary is introduced. Instead, all words are spiraled from previous units to help reinforce long-term retention and give students multiple opportunities to use and understand the vocabulary in context. This research-backed method is designed to help students own their words rather than memorize and forget them.
